As part of the Creativity and Innovation in Marketing course, two student groups from the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna, recently undertook meaningful assignments aimed at exploring inclusive marketing and social responsibility through community engagement.
One group visited the Jaffna Jaipur Centre for Disability Rehabilitation (JJCDR), where they participated in a series of creative and impactful tasks, presenting their work directly to the JJCDR board members. This experience offered students valuable insights into the role of marketing in driving social impact, while fostering a deeper understanding of inclusivity and empathy in the marketing sphere. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the JJCDR team for their warm welcome and continuous inspiration. A special note of remembrance and respect goes to Dr. Mrs. Ganeshamoorthy and the Late Dr. Mrs. Deivendra for their lifelong dedication to serving the community.
Simultaneously, another group collaborated with the Association for Rehabilitation of the Disabled (AROD), engaging in activities that promoted community well-being and social inclusion. This initiative provided students with a unique opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-world contexts, broadening their perspective on the importance of community-driven development and inclusive outreach.
These projects not only enhanced students’ creativity and practical skills but also underscored the significance of using marketing as a force for good. We are proud of our students’ commitment and thank both JJCDR and AROD for their unwavering support in guiding our future marketers through such transformative learning experiences.
